Thaitsuki Swords Hoso Kumiage Katana - KTN3 ThaitsukiFully Functional Koto style blade has a "Specialy Blended" High Carbon forged steel, Traditional Japanese clay coating and heat treating used to produce a hard tempered hi with true hamon. The blade has a full BO-HI (groove).The blade is hand polished and the hamon brought out. KOSHIRAE - Elegant Koto style black gloss saya with a silver Koiguchi, Kurigata and Kojiri, tan Japanese Cotton sageo. The tsuka has genuine (same) and is wrapped with either black silk or leather tsuka-ito with upgraded silver Fuchi/Kashira (floral motif), Mitsuhana silver Menuki . The tsuka is double pegged for safety. The sword also has a koto style Tsuba (maple leaves motif) and features an upgraded silver one piece Habaki with silver seppa. This sword is extremely sharp and can be completely disassembled for full maintenance. I bought one of these Shintos a few years back and was not to impressed. I sold it and decided to try them again, wow, what a difference a few years makes. Thaitsuki Forge really listened to the customers and corrected all the issues that I had anyway. I am now totally impressed with the workmanship and hardware. The blade has a much better polish on it, the hamon is very prominent, the forgeof the blade is clean and defect free, the hi is very sharp and the mune is straight as an arrow. The tsuka-ito is tight and clean and the furniture is very well done. This Katana feels great in your and and moves very well. Highly recommend this Forge, they are giving Hanwei a run for the money... Thanks Collectible Swords USA for bringing them in.
